SPEAKING & TEACHING
I am available to speak and conduct workshops at writer's conferences and industry functions on a range of topics, including the new digital publishing landscape, the role of independent editors, how to write a book proposal, author platform building, and the pros and cons of self-publishing and how to do it right.
My most recent appearance was at the Creative Nonfiction Conference held by the Creative Nonfiction program at the University of Pittsburgh, bit.ly/CNConference, where I gave an hour long presentation about the new publishing landscape as well as conducting a book proposal writing workshop and one-on-one author consultations.
I have developed a curriculum for teaching the craft of nonfiction book writing and book proposal writing, which I taught through Mediabistro in the summer of 2014.
Please contact me if you would like to discuss my teaching this class in the future, starting no earlier than November of 2014.
